- Usage Data: Browser type, IP address, device information for service optimization
2. What We Don't Collect
We never record or store the content of your calls. Your privacy is paramount:
- No Call Recording: We never record, listen to, or store the audio content of your conversations.
- End-to-End Encryption: All calls are encrypted directly between your browser and the recipient using WebRTC protocols.
- No Access to Call Content: Zenophone's infrastructure cannot decrypt or access your call content—it passes through encrypted.
- Metadata Only: We only collect call metadata (phone numbers, duration, timestamps) necessary for billing and service delivery.
3. How We Use Your Data
- Provide and maintain the calling service
- Process payments and calculate billing
- Send service-related notifications (call receipts, low balance alerts)
- Improve service quality and troubleshoot technical issues

4. How We Share Your Information
We may share your information in the following situations:
- Service Providers: We work with trusted third-party vendors to provide our services (e.g., payment processor, hosting provider, email delivery).

- With Your Consent: We may share your information with third parties whenever you have given us explicit permission to do so.
5. Data Retention
We retain call metadata for 12 months for billing and support purposes. Account information is kept until you request deletion. You can delete your account anytime from your profile settings.
6. Security
We implement multiple layers of security to protect your privacy:
- End-to-End Call Encryption: All calls use WebRTC with DTLS-SRTP encryption, creating a secure, encrypted connection directly between your browser and the recipient. This means your call audio is encrypted before it leaves your device and remains encrypted until it reaches the recipient.
- Zero Access Architecture: Zenophone's servers facilitate the connection but cannot decrypt or access your call content. We simply don't have the keys.
- Data Transmission Security: All data transmission uses industry-standard TLS/SSL encryption to protect your account information and metadata.
- Payment Security: Payment processing is handled exclusively by Stripe, a PCI-DSS Level 1 certified provider. We never access or store your card information.
- No Recording Policy: We have a strict no-recording, no-listening policy. Your conversations remain private between you and the person you're calling.
7. Cookies
We use essential cookies for authentication and session management. No third-party tracking or advertising cookies are used.
8. Changes to This Policy
This policy may be updated from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page and post the revised policy here. By continuing to use Zenophone after changes are posted, you agree to the updated policy.
